Terrible exhaust fan for over the range

Everything about the microwave works™€¦ however I got it primarily for a space efficient range hood, and the vent fan is horrendous. Maybe 25-35% of the steam gets sucked up and the rest just coats the front of the microwave in condensation. It™€™s very sad, especially as it™€™s now built in.

This is my second Maytag microwave in 15 years. The first one was still working well but this one had nice features that I couldn't resist. The finish is easy to clean & it does not show fingerprints. I love that! Plus the door is all one piece so there is no top trim piece to break & fall off. Operating it is very easy. The fan is whisper quiet & the alert tone is pleasant (unlike the obnoxious tone on the old model). The interior is silver colored & very easy to clean. There's nothing not to like about this unit.

I like everything about it. Some people complain that the light is too dim, or that it's not LED, or the beep is too loud. I find all those features to be just right. The incandescent light creates a nice evening atmosphere, not too bright, but just right, in both settings. I like that it has much more power than my previous Whirlpool, and it takes half the time to warm up same cup of coffee in comparison to the old one. I also liked that the wall bracket and 2 orifices for bolts on top of it are identical in my old microwave and this new one, so I didn't have to re-do the measurements and drill new holes, but just replace the old Whirlpool with the new Maytag. I also like the Teflon coating on the inside- it's easy to clean. Despite being more powerful, it weighs noticeably less than the old one, so it was easier to install. It looks modern, and hopefully will last past its warranty, just as the old one, which lasted over 10 years.

I like the look of it but hate that I can not manually use defrost or cook. Everything is coded. Never ever order installation. I had damage to my cupboards, wall and microwave. They used the wrong bolts and it was hanging by one. The 2nd installers could not reinstall due to the fact they had no hardware and left it on my dining room table. Worst experience ever. It is still on my table

Please remember if your installing it, either have it installed professionally or get someone to help you install it. The Microwave has a very good templet for marking the wall and getting your bracket installed too.

They ordered us a new one and this one has a slight imperfection on the same right-side panel, but it is not as bad as the first one. We decided to go ahead and keep it.

Nothing but headaches - does not work

We've had multiple problems with this microwave. It stopped working after several months and we had to wait a week to have someone come out and replace multiple parts. Then the replaced parts failed and they would not come out again to fix it unless we paid more than what the microwave is worth! So much for the 10-year warranty sticker on the front door. Never again with Maytag or any of its cousins (Whirlpool or Amana).

So far so good, we really like our new Whirlpool over the range microwave. We finally found the one that has a button to open the door, our older microwave had the standard handle and members of our family are short and over time the door went off center and made the unit come on by itself. Please keep making models with a push button for the door.

Bought new in box to replace a similar Maytag microwave that we had for nearly 9 yrs. Did not work properly from day 1. Would start to run for about 2 sec then quit regardless of function selected (eg. reheat, defrost, cook, etc.) and fan made unusual noise. Worse yet it would often cause the circuit breaker to trip. Got approved technician out to tell us "bad control panel". New panel back-ordered so no idea how much longer before we have a fully functioning microwave. Would NOT recommend this particular model to anyone.
