The cooling unit goes out after four years and yoh have to get it replaced. They wont give you the same product if its over two years old I suggest getting a warranty. I waited four months for my fridge to be fixed and only got 350 on groceries should have been 650. Was living out of a cooler and eating out .

LG has an excellent reputation which is why while remodeling my kitchen I chose LG above all other brands. LG rated the Best in categories such as technical efficiency which is necessary in nearly every device including kitchen appliances. I bought my appliances including my stainless steel French 3 door design refrigerator. Im pleased with my choice especially when compared to other brands. My refrigerator looks stunning. The temperature is well balancedover-all. I did t realize at the time of purchase that there are a lot of class action lawsuits. Mostly regarding an abrupt loss of cooking. I realized this when my LG Refrigerator suddenly stopped cooling. Fortunately being less than 5 years old the faulty linear compressor was replaced by LG at no cost to me. An LG Technician replaced the linear compressor. I lost between $500 to $750 in refrigeratorsted and frozen foods. I worry that this compressor will suddenly stop cooking. I assume that the replacement is the same as the one that stopped working which I feel that thit the replacement will suddenly stop cooking statistically around 5 years from now. At that point this appliance will be 10 years old no longer warranted and not worth the cost to fix it so I assume it will require replacement. Knowing this I will replace it before that happens so I will not lose my refrigerated food once again. Im quite sure I would not get a bottom freezer again as this design is difficult to keep organized making it difficult to locate items in thdd ex freezer. I think I will replace it with another LG Refrigerator as the LG brand is better than competitors. And LG easily honored my warranty and fixed it within a few days.

A gallon of milk can only be stored on the top shelf or door however the optimal location for milk is on the bottom shelf not the top shelf and not the door but the shelves cannot be adjust to store milk on the bottom shelf.

Nice fridge but not built tough

Loved this refrigerator when we bought it. About 2 months in a crack appeared on the bottom of the white plastic inner lining. We did not remember dropping anything but even if someone did shouldnt that area of the lining be built tough enough to handle drops? Turns out the lining cannot be repaired as it is all one piece. Went round and round with LG customer service to no avail. We even purchased the extra warranty from the Appliance Retailer and that did not help us either. So here we are with a 5 month old refrigerator that has an unsightly crack in the inner liner that we now have to live with. Who knows how this will affect the insulation and cooling capability long term. Do better LG

Bought at Home Depot in April 2026. Pros: I love French door style. Inner capacity fits my needs. Fits my small space. Cooling is great. Water dispenser has a child lock and light. Temperature adjustment is on the outside of the fridge. Water filter is inside of fridge at the top.Ice maker consistently makes ice. Cons: door storage is limited for height cant be adjusted. Freezer capacity is small. Ice maker groans during operation. Freezer drawer opening and closing is not smooth.

Compressor died after less than 5 years. LG claims to have a warranty on the compressor but it doesnt include labor or the associated parts required so repair of a fridge under warranty is still an $800 repair. Very disappointing.

Awesome good looking mid level size icebox

Cooling defaults seem to be spot on. The capacity of this refrigerator is a good size for my wife and I. The ice maker make plenty of ice and the freezer is a good size for our purposes. This refrigerator runs very quiet except when the ice maker cycles but it is no louder than expected. The inside is designed pretty well too but it would be nice to be able to get more of the taller things in the doors like gallon milk or other tall things by adjusting the holders. Temperature is very good and the door display that lets you know your dual temps are appreciated. When you use the lower drawer freezer and close it it will be pretty loud as it self closes because the ice bin rattles the cubes that makes most of the noise. I have gotten used to how loud closing the freezer can be but you can consciously close it more intentionally and not let it slam This isnt a deal breaker for me. I havent changed the water filter yet so I cant comment on how this will go. The appearance of this refrigerator is very good and looks so good in our kitchen.

5 year failure

Cooling in the refrigerator and freezer abruptly stopped exactly 5 years after manufacture. Since others have reported the same issue as a compressor failure 5 years after manufacture I will probably have to buy a new refrigerator. But it will not be an LG since the 5 year failure seems to be programmed.

Freezer failure and costly service experience

The refrigerator freezer stopped freezing and only cooled causing frozen food to thaw. What made the experience much worse was LGs service process. Scheduling repair required a $450 pre-authorization hold even though I was told I would not be charged until after service. Due to delays and rescheduling two separate $450 holds were placed temporarily tying up $900 of my funds. Service for a no-freeze condition was not treated as urgent and escalation options were unclear. Food-loss reimbursement was described as discretionary with no review available. I expected better reliability and clearer support from LG. I hope LG improves both product dependability and how urgent appliance failures are handled.

The compressor burned out within 5 years of purchase almost to the day. As soon as the warranty expired it stopped cooling. I lost hundreds of dollars worth of food products. No one in area would repair. Took over a week to get a LG repair service appointment at the cost of $500 minimum. Not worth the cost. Company is dishonest promising 10 year warranty on the compressor. That is a lie. Customer service is awful. I will never purchase an LG refrigerator again.

Planned obsolescence in a shiny box

Definitely avoid this one. Ours stopped working after 4 years. No repair shops in my area even the ones personally recommended by LG will touch it. A component on the PCB the main control board on the back blew apart and left burn marks on the metal cover. Even after replacing it for $170 the refrigerator still wont work. And after 20 days LG is still refusing to make things right. Do yourself a favor and shop around

I used to purchase LG products however this refrigerator freezer has been a let down. The compressor failed after 3+ years. The cost to repair is comparable to a new unit. Im moving away from LG completely. Class action lawsuit on Linear Compressors for a reason. Maybe Ill join the suit.

I bought this refrigerator in January of 2025.It has been functioning well.I like the Ice maker as far as cube shape and size and the capacity of the ice tray.Yesterday my wife went to clean the shelf that is directly above the vegetable drawer.The glass that makes the shelf is not removable and there is liquid between the glass and the plastic frame .Very poor design .The whole lower shelving system will have to be removed and I will have to try to spray it off outside and hope it will be clean one thing is for sure it will not be as clean as I would like it .

Poor Quality Incorrect Manual Horrible Service

After purchasing LG products for 20 years this refrigerator was the last one. The owners manual ON THIS PAGE has the wrong part number to replace the water filter. Which made me order the wrong water filter 6 of them. LG chat service was simply horrible. Their only response was you should have ordered from LG.com Simply unbelievable. I showed screenshots of their manual listing the wrong part number and the parrot on the other end could only say you should have ordered from us. Nevermind the fact that literally hundreds of other websites and dealers are authorized to sell LG replacement filters. I wasted at least 30 minutes and gave up. Point being if you have to order any filters dont trust the manual. Pull it out of the fridge and double check. As for the fridge itself its not great at least not what you might expect for $1500. We randomly have items freeze while its set to medium. The drawers feel flimsy and one has already cracked after just 9 months. The water dispenser is painfully slow even when the filter was new. The ice maker motor is really loud and sounds like it is struggling to function. The fingerprint-proof stainless steel has fingerprints all over it. After purchasing an LG Washing machine clothes dryer refrigerator dishwasher multiple televisions and who knows what else Im done. Theyve lost a lifelong customer due to the product quality plummeting and the horrible customer service.

If I could return it I would. For this amount of money and no printless material choice except stainless steel is maddening S.S. was soooo 2016 Bottom deep freeze freezer divider is a nightmare to remove. The sliding storage freezer drawer that sits on top of the deep drawer is horribly clunky to open. It does not glide smoothly. If you want to extend it out you have to pull it up forward hopefully keeping it on the track.

Terrible customer service from LG

Terrible LG service 4/8/2025

The main cooling fan motor stopped working after about year and a half. Order repair from LG service. The fan was repaired at the total cost for $413 which is about 25 of the total cost for the refrigerator. I revived the repair receipt with the misspelled first name. I need this receipt to apply for the extended warranty benefits on my credit card. I called LG support 4 times asking to correct this mistake. You would expect this this will be a simple deal. No. Each time I was told that the management will work on this issue and I will receive the corrected receipt within 1 to 2 bogusness days. This never happened. I cannot claim the extended warranty now. I do not know what to do with LG in this case - I do not have other options of getting the receipt corrects except of maybe suing them.

Faulty Compressor. 2nd Frig in 9 years same issue

I bought this Refrigerator to replace a different LG refrigerator that the compressor failed in 4.5 years. LG later had a lawsuit which settled in court for faulty compressors on my old refrigerator never received a penny even though I had tracked the lawsuit somehow missed it. I have now had this refrigerator which replaced the old one for 4.5 years and the compressor is dead again. LG is sending a company to repair that has a 1.5 star satisfaction rating. Trying to find someone else but so far hasnt happened. Now another lawsuit brewing again because of bad. The lawsuit is asserting that compressor failure is a known flaw and company has fraudulently manufactured and is continuing to manufacture a faulty compressor and placing in LG refrigerators. It is still happening even after a settled lawsuit So sad because I do love my LG refrigerator. Their configuration on the interior is above all the rest. Am pleading with LG PLEASE figure this out. Stop pretending you care about the consumer and start making a longer lasting appliance so that we know you are a honest reliable company. Will be getting this one fixed because still under warranty but believe me I will be back to update. Good or Bad. If good then I will buy LG again. If bad will be contacting Consumer Reports to remove from recommended buy list.

Faulty Condenser

My LG refrigerator lasted 3 years and 8 months before the condenser stopped working. I have to now buy a new refrigerator and it certainly wont be another LG. Repair man said LG is known for failing condensers and the same from sales person selling me a new refrigerator.

I have not been able to find an appliance repair service in our area that is willing or able to work on LG appliances - I certainly wish I would have known that BEFORE purchasing LG customer service could not help either. What a terrible experience. the fridge stopped cooling. it took LG 10 days to get a repairman to repair it. Then after the man left about 2 weeks later the machine started making a very loud noise. i called back and they said Well thats not under warranty. clearly they did not fix the machine properly and LG wont take responsibility for the faulty repair. i spent hours on the phone with them and it tore my heart out trying to explain that to the people.

We bought a 22 cu ft. after owning a 28 cu ft. for many years. It is a French door refrigerator. Overall it is great. Only two issues. The side storage container space options are limited so you cannot store many tall items especially at the top shelves. Also the guide on the left hand door that helps the doord seal upon closing often opens in a half open position so when you close the left door it hits the right hand door. You should not have to even think about it but I do now so I dont damage the guide.

Spacious and space saving

Bought this unit to replace a 33 inch wide side by side this LG is roomier inside while being only 30 inches wide. Temperatures in both refrigerator and freezer are accurate and hold within 2 degrees. I love the flexibility with shelves and drawers. The only minor issue is if you collect magnets on your refrigerator they wont stick to the front doors of this unit I attached some thin sheets of a magnetic grade of stainless with 3M double sided tape to take care of that. I am extremely happy with this LG product overall.
